SPEED AND RANGE
This craft is powered by two 12 Volt deep cycle batteries positioned
above the keel and located in the bow and stern under the seats. Connected
in series,
this
bank
provides
110
amp-hours at 24 Volts. This means that at full speed, traveling 5.2 MPH (4.5
Knots) and drawing 30 amps, the boat will travel 19 miles or for 3.6 hours.
However, at a cruising speed of 4.5 MPH (3.9 Knots) drawing 16 Amps the
boat will travel
29 miles or 6.5 hours. At a trolling speed of 1.2 MPH drawing 1 amp a charge
will last over 100 Hrs. After use, the boat is "plugged in" using
a conventional marine extension cord and the built in trickle charger recharges
the batteries
within
7 hrs. All calculations are based on a 50% depletion of the battery cells
in order to maximize the life span and battery cycles. A 25% reserve is
available but should only be used in emergency and should not be calculated
into normal running operation. (See
Chart and Graph)
